Seniors Kick Off College Application Process with Boot Camp

Jennifer Nagy leading the College Boot Camp meetingThe seniors kicked off the year by attending College Application Bootcamps in August with new OHHS guidance and college counselor, Mrs. Nagy. They learned how to use important tools in Naviance to help with completing their college applications and received strategies for understanding the Common Application. They now have the tools they need to navigate the college application process during the upcoming months.

Senior Rebecca Kona-Stanciu shares, “The college boot camp was a great way to meet the new counselor Mrs. Nagy before the school year and get prepared for the college application process. She helped us make our Common App accounts and link them to Naviance, which is essential to starting the application process.” Senior Caroline Lathrop feels similarly, “Mrs. Nagy helped me to organize and begin the college process before school started. Being able to ask her questions about my application and begin work on my Common App helped me to feel ahead of the game.”

Seniors continue to work on their applications and college essays. Many of the colleges and universities have a November 1 deadline. Questions regarding the college application process can be addressed to Jennifer Nagy via email at JNagy@ohschools.org.
