Last Saturday, the Ottawa Hills High School Science Olympiad team finished 13th in the State Science Olympiad competition. This was the sixth straight year the team has qualified to compete at states. Advisor Jeremy Nixon notes, "We finished somewhere in the 30's the first two years we competed, then we were in the 20's the next few years. Last year, the team finished 19th, and this year 13th. This is still a young program compared to many of the other schools that have been competing in Science Olympiad for many years. Our climb in the final standings shows that our program is growing with each year."
A huge thanks to parents, staff members, and the administration for all of their help and support. Thank you, high school advisors Jeremy Nixon, Paul Genzman, and Jeanine Bailey for guiding our students throughout the Science Olympiad season. Special thanks to OHSPA for their continued support of this extracurricular activity. Congratulations to the team on another exceptional season.
