By Tom McCarthy
Lucas County Board of Elections Board member David Karmol and Field Operator Supervisor Pamela Wilson spoke to several OHHS seniors in Mr. McCarthy’s class Sept. 25 about being Precinct Election Officials (PEOs) for the upcoming national and state elections Nov. 6.
The county hires between 1,500-2,000 PEOs for each year’s election. Serving as one is a great opportunity for high school students to get hand’s-on experience in the American election process.
Mrs. Wilson pointed out that anyone eligible to vote in Ohio may be a PEO and they are always looking for good people.
