Eight Ottawa Hills teachers and Superintendent Kevin Miller traveled to China on a Professional Development Tour during the summer of 2012. The group left on June 8, 2012 and returned on June 21, 2012. While in China, the team toured Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai. The highlight of the trip was four days at Yiling Senior High School in Yichang City. Yiling is a partner school to Ottawa Hills Schools. This partnership was established when Dr. Miller visited Yiling Senior High in 2010 as part of the China Exchange Initiative, sponsored by the Freeman Foundation. Twenty-five other teachers from across Ohio joined the O.H. team, and they also spent time at their respective partner schools.
