STUDENT SELECTED AS STATE MERIT WINNER IN 3M YOUNG SCIENTIST CHALLENGE
Alicia de la Serna, an upcoming 8th grade student at Ottawa Hills Junior High School, was selected as a State Merit Winner in the 14th annual Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge.
A partnership between Discovery Education and 3M, the Young Scientist Challenge encourages the exploration of science and innovation and promotes the importance of science communication. As the premier national science competition for students in grades 5-8, the Young Scientist Challenge has engaged thousands of students nationwide since its inception over 10 years ago.
Alicia is being recognized as the top performer from Ohio in the 2012 competition. She will receive a 3M Shoot n’ Share Camcorder and a special certificate to recognize her achievement.
