Gage ShultzGage Shultz
8th Grade

 

Gage enjoys boating, camping, and fishing. He is also involved in Youth to Youth at Ottawa Hills. In his free time, he enjoys baking, cooking and building legos. His favorite class at Ottawa Hills is algebra because he finds it very interesting. Gage’s favorite book is Curse of the Komodo by M.C. Berkhousen. In the future, Gage plans to become a teacher, possibly in math or history.

“Recently at the pancake dinner, the junior high students were very helpful but Gage was outstanding. He helped out during the entire event cleaning the floor from the messy pancakes, never complaining. We were so thankful for him.” –After Prom Committee

 


 

Shelley McClureShelley McClure
12th Grade

 

Shelley’s activities at Ottawa Hills include the marching band and book club. In her free time, she enjoys reading, raising indoor plants, playing music, and traveling. Her favorite class at Ottawa Hills is ceramics because she was able to see incredible improvement on a long-term project.

In the future, she will attend University of Toledo where she will major in Civil Engineering. She is also hoping to join the UT marching band and symphonic band to play the clarinet.

If Shelley could eat one meal for the rest of her life, she would eat a double decker taco supreme with a caramel apple empanada and a strawberry skittle freeze.

“Shelley truly exemplifies citizenship at Ottawa Hills. She is focused and dedicated in her work and to learning. As a student, she is adamantly honest and stands up for what she believes in on a daily basis. This pushes her to be a role model for other students who aren't at a place yet where they can say what they believe and know what they need to be successful.” --Ms. Eisenbaum


 

Geneva HowardGeneva Howard
9th Grade

 

Geneva’s activities at Ottawa Hills include track, challenge crew, volunteer focus, and girls united. In her free time, she enjoys trying new foods and spending time with friends and family. People would be surprised to know that Geneva loves science fiction movies.

Her favorite class at Ottawa Hills is English with Dr. Hurst because of the warm environment and the enjoyable books she gets to read. In the future, she plans to go to college and study medicine. If she could eat one food for the rest of her life, she would eat spinach pies and watermelon.

“Geneva excels in and out of the classroom. She is a dedicated and conscientious student. Her involvement in school clubs and activities reflects her compassion for others and her commitment to making our school and community the best they can be.” --Mr. McMurray

 


 

Joseph BoeselJoseph Boesel
12th Grade

 

Joe’s activities at Ottawa Hills include football, lacrosse, hockey, Teen PEP, band, and National Honors Society. In his free time, he enjoys ping pong, tennis, spike ball, and hanging out with friends. People would be surprised to know that he eats the same thing for breakfast every day: two eggs over easy on toast.

His favorite class at Ottawa Hills is chemistry because he is intrigued by the idea that chemistry applies to every object in the real world. His favorite book is Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. In the future, Joe will play lacrosse at Kenyon College where he will study biochemistry in hopes to attend medical school.

“Joe is a pillar of our band. As a leader, he organizes percussion assignments for all HS concerts. As a performer, he has been section leader of the drumline and helped inspire our Green Bears to victory. As a young man, he has shown tremendous character and been a example of what it means to be an Ottawa Hills student, athlete, and musician.” –Mr. Leeds
