Board of Education Selects Two Finalists for Superintendent

Posted On: Wednesday, May 15, 2019

The Ottawa Hills Board of Education is excited to announce it has selected two finalists in the search for the district’s next superintendent. Earlier this week, the board conducted interviews with four semi-finalists, after one candidate withdrew. The two finalists are:

  • Richard Baird, superintendent of North Union Local School District, a 1,500-student district in Richwood, Ohio.
  • Dr. Adam Fineske, superintendent of Sylvania Schools, a 7,700-student district in Sylvania, Ohio.

In the next step of the search, the five-member board and a broader group of 25 district stakeholders will conduct final interviews. Those interviews will be conducted in Executive Session at the Elementary School Library Media Center. The meeting dates and finalists to be interviewed are:

  • Tuesday, May 21: Mr. Baird
  • Wednesday, May 22: Dr. Fineske

The board expects to make a decision next week, at which point an offer will be extended and contract negotiations will begin.

(For those staff members who are part of the May 21-22 stakeholder interviews, an email will be sent to you shortly with additional information on both of these candidates.)
