Congratulations to 2nd grader Bismann Singh for earning the "Distinguished Speaker Award" for his age group (ages 6-8) at the Sikh Youth Symposium, a speech and discussion competition held across North America.
The award came for his performance at the International level. His presentation drew critical acclaim from a panel of distinguished judges, and was highly praised by the audience attending the program. To advance to the International level, Bismann earned a first-prize trophy at the Regional level. This year’s International competition -- held in Dayton, Ohio -- drew 80 participants.
In the Symposium competition, students make a presentation on Sikh ethos and history and their importance to interfaith harmony and peace in today’s world, based on a book or theme assigned to them for analysis. Congratulations, Bismann!
