OH Model UN Club participates in virtual CASC Conference

2020 students at Model UN conference

Earlier this month, OH students in the OH Model UN Club participated virtually in the Canadian-American Security Council Conference. Seven Green Bears joined more than 300 other Midwestern, Guatemalan, & Canadian high school students representing countries in the present-day United Nations Security Council, European Union, and Arab League. The event took place Dec. 4-5.

Participating in the Security Council were Juniors: Bazil Frueh (China), Adam Hamilton (Tunisia), Blaise Malczewski (St. Vincent), Gabe Smith (United Kingdom), and Natalie Timmerman (Russia). Topics debated were Armed aggression against the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Yemeni crisis.

Participating in the European Union were juniors Elise Denk (France) and Faith Seo (Greece). Topics debated were improving cooperation and information-sharing to fight terrorism and cross-border crime and improving the quality of our air and waters.

Natalie received Second Honors representing the Russian Federation in her Security Council.
