Lights! Cameras! Brown Bag Chorus!

Posted On: Thursday, March 11, 2021

Brown Bag Chorus, a beloved tradition, makes its post-COVID debut Wednesday (March 17). (Like many events in 2020, the performance was canceled.)

To add glamour to the all-video format this year, students in grades 5-6 are getting dressed up and walking the “red carpet” celebrity style. (Beware the Paparazzi!)

The event will be at the Junior/Senior High School auditorium and not open to the general public; all students and families will practice social distancing and must be masked at all times. Students will enter at staggered times beginning at 6 p.m.; the choir collage videos begin playing at 7 p.m. (Plans are for the event to be livestreamed for those families unable or uncomfortable attending in person.)

Thank you to Kimberly Manchur, music educator and Brown Bag Chorus director, for inspiring and leading this event. And special thanks to the Ottawa Hills Music & Theatre Association and Brown Bag Chorus liaison Amy Riese for their help in making the event a reality.
