It is my pleasure to welcome you to Ottawa Hills Local Schools. The Ottawa Hills School System has been serving the people and children of Ottawa Hills since 1925. During its long history, the school district has become known for academic excellence and has established itself as one of Ohio’s premier schools.
The Ottawa Hills School District is a small suburban district with an enrollment of approximately one thousand students. Students are housed in two buildings: an elementary school for Grades K through 6 and a junior/senior high school for Grades 7 through 12. The district’s mission is to challenge each student to develop his or her academic, social, creative, and physical abilities; to instill an appreciation for learning as a lifelong process; and to increase awareness of and responsibility to the local and world community. This mission is accomplished through a clear and primary focus on student achievement. In addition, our dedicated staff provides a rigorous, challenging curriculum in a climate of high expectations where all children are given the opportunity to learn in a safe, orderly environment.
In addition, the Ottawa Hills community is an integral part of the success of our school system. Ottawa Hills Schools are consistently recognized as “Excellent with Distinction” on the Ohio Department of Education’s Local Report card—the highest designation a school district can earn in the state of Ohio. In large part, this rating is the result of the involvement of our parents and community members, the commitment of our staff members, and the spirit of our student body.
Thank you for visiting the website for Ottawa Hills Local Schools. Within this site’s pages there is a wealth of information that is beneficial to district parents, residents, and potential newcomers to our district. This dynamic website is yet another element in our offerings that allows our district to continue building on the tradition of excellence that has come to be known as Ottawa Hills Schools.
