12 new faculty and staff joined the district this week. They include paraprofessionals, teachers, a psychologist and an intervention specialist. Meet the new staff for the 2019-2020 school year:
Julie and husband Sean have two children and a Yorkie named Floyd. She previously taught for Perrysburg Schools. In her spare time, Julie enjoys being with her family and friends, boating, and traveling. People would be surprised to know that Julie hiked up 87 floors to the Great Wall of China in 100 degree heat; she’s swam with sharks and rays; rappelled down cliffs; and helicoptered over volcanoes. Julie is honored to become the newest member of our fifth-grade team and is excited to work with others who are passionate about education and doing great things for kids.

Since she’s began teaching ASL, she has returned to Jamaica several times. Ashley is thrilled to join the amazing team and family here, and looks forward to sharing her love and enthusiasm of ASL with Ottawa Hills students and community.

She also enjoys watching movies, reading, and shopping. She also can play the piano and cello. Mackenzie says she “cannot wait to continue getting to know everyone, and will strive to be a great team member who brings excitement and positivity.”

She has one daughter, who’s studying graphic design at Owens Community College. In her spare time, Chinnon enjoys spending time at the pool with her daughter and word and trivia games. On joining Ottawa Hills, Chinnon says: “This is a major move for me and I am excited for the change and ready for the challenge. I am hoping to be able to have an impact on each and every student in the district!”
